Mounjaro is a prescription medication — which means eligibility needs to be assessed by a doctor, not an online form. At Fylde Private Medical, your assessment is carried out in person by a GMC-registered GP who considers your full health picture.

BMI Requirements
The primary eligibility criteria are based on BMI:
• BMI of 30 or above — you are classified as obese and may be eligible for Mounjaro
• BMI of 27-29.9 — you may still be eligible if you have a weight-related health condition
Weight-related conditions that can make you eligible at a lower BMI include: type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, or cardiovascular disease.
Who Is Not Suitable for Mounjaro?
Mounjaro is not appropriate for everyone. Your GP will discuss your suitability if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer
• Have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2)
• Have a history of pancreatitis
• Have severe kidney disease
This is why a face-to-face GP consultation matters. These are clinical decisions that require medical judgement — not a tickbox questionnaire.
How to Check Your Eligibility at Fylde Private Medical
The easiest way to start is to use our online eligibility checker, which asks about your height, weight, and basic health history. This takes just a few minutes and will tell you whether a consultation is the right next step.
If eligible, book a GP consultation at our St Annes practice. We'll complete a full assessment and, if appropriate, start your treatment that day.
