Yes — if your assessment determines you’re suitable for treatment, we’ll perform a patch test right then and there. This ensures your skin tolerates the laser before doing a full session.

Most people have minimal downtime. You might see temporary redness, slight swelling, or sensitivity in treated areas. We’ll go through post-care steps to help your skin recover comfortably.

This will be discussed in full during you assessment, but here are some tips before your laser treatment appointments:

Please avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Don't use retinoids, glycolic acid, or other exfoliating agents for 3–5 days before treatment.

Inform your clinician if you are taking any photosensitising medications or have recently completed a course of antibiotics.

On the day of your appointment, arrive with clean, makeup-free skin in the area to be treated.

You may experience a brief warmth or mild snapping sensation as the light energy is delivered — this is normal and well tolerated.

Your treatment settings will be carefully adjusted to your skin type, condition, and treatment goals to ensure comfort and safety.

Following treatment, you may notice Mild redness or swelling, which generally resolves within a few hours to 1–2 days. You may also get a feeling of warmth or tightness in the treated area, similar to mild sun exposure.

We recommend:

• Avoiding heat exposure (saunas, hot baths, vigorous exercise) for 24–48 hours.

• Using broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily to protect treated skin.

• Delaying the use of active skincare products (retinol, acids) for several days or until advised by your clinician.

• Your skin’s clarity and tone will continue to improve in the days following treatment, with optimal results achieved through a course of sessions as recommended during your consultation.

During treatment, you may experience a warm, light snapping sensation as the energy is delivered to the skin. Most patients find the procedure very tolerable. The handpiece features a sapphire cooling tip, which enhances comfort and protects the skin throughout the session.
