Doug is a dual-qualified Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon with medical and dental degrees from the University of Wales and University College London. He has advanced training in skin cancer surgery, with particular expertise in lesions affecting the face, scalp, and neck. He regularly performs minor skin operations including skin cancer excision, cyst removal, and scar revision — combining surgical precision with a strong focus on cosmetic outcomes. Doug also brings extensive experience in complex oral surgery, dental implants, and sedation. In addition to his clinical roles, Doug has served as Head Doctor for Stoke City FC and Team Doctor for England Rugby League. Known for his calm and understated approach, Doug puts patients at ease with his experience, skill, and attention to detail.

Direct referral to minor skin surgeon
If surgery is required, you’ll be referred to Dr. Doug Hammond, our Minor Skin Surgeon. Treatment will be carried out promptly, all within Fylde Medical Practice.
After care and follow up
Aftercare is tailored to your individual needs to support proper healing and minimise scarring. Depending on your treatment, a follow-up appointment with Doug may be recommended to monitor your recovery.
